Misty Nomberto, MSW Intern
We all experience transitions in our lives and require tools to navigate these life changes. Increasing self awareness is key for maintaining a healthy approach to change. Through empathetic listening, utilizing tools such as DBT, CBT, ACT, EMDR and MI, we will work together to process grief, faith transitions, gender transitions, relationship transitions and more.
I am a current MSW student at the University of Utah. I have experience working with the LGBTQIA+ population, people experiencing faith transitions, divorce, death, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction recovery and personal traumas. I have a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology. Prior to returning to school to be a social worker, I worked for many years in dementia care, dementia education and in hospice helping people navigate these major end of life changes.
Utilizing and practicing the skills taught in these therapeutic modalities will increase your coping abilities, self awareness and self determination, leading to stronger relationships and helping you find balance and peace in your life.
