Melisa Araujo
CSW and Neurofeedback Provider
As a therapist, I am warm, grounded, and patient. I listen closely, with curiosity and kindness. I prioritize providing a safe space in which we can work collaboratively to explore what is brought into the room. I believe that it is in a stable, judgement-free zone that one can reach the vulnerability necessary for healing and achieving one’s best self.
Rooted in trauma-informed, social justice, and holistic perspectives, I am passionate about supporting individuals in figuring out how to get “unstuck”, navigate challenging relationships and life transitions, learn how to be present in both mind and body, and grow into the most authentic version of themselves. I believe that self-awareness and self-compassion can bring about accountability and change. I believe we can all learn to care for ourselves and communicate with loved ones in ways that improve our relationships and well-being, and it is an honor to facilitate this work. I am BIPOC and LGBTQ+ affirming and am committed to ongoing learning from my clients about the truth of their own lived experience.
I use a psychodynamic approach and am trained in Neurofeedback and EMDR. I utilize a range of different techniques and modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). My current focuses include attachment styles, family dynamics, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, faith transitions, intercultural and interfaith relationships, substance addiction, PTSD, and complex trauma.
